Celebrating One Year of Sun Sun

It has now been one year since the album Sun Sun was released, a collection of songs written for the ever-changing seasons in Lutruwita/Tasmania. Sun Sun is an album of lost things, forgotten dreams, little griefs. It is a conjuring of light and softness through patterns of leaves, seedlings, and endless cups of tea. Of finding gentle quiet, softness and knitted warmth – a slow weaving of days anew. Two laps around the sun were spent collecting sounds and jotting down memories. The album was recorded across two springs, summers, autumns and winters – soft moments, meandering soundscapes and serenades reflecting upon tiny joys and gentle light.

Field recordings from Sun Sun were captured across Lutruwita/Tasmania through the seasons with an ambisonic microphone, including the fine details of birdsong, wind through trees and river systems. The songs were written as a thank you to the little moments of warmth and brightness found in the garden, from the moss, and in the last rays of the day.
