July 12th: Feast and Storytelling at Willie Smiths

A night of life, love, tales with Emma Skalicky, Ryk Goddard and Young Dawkins at The Willie Smith’s Apple Shed. Enjoy a Hot Spiced Cider on arrival, before being seated to hear a tale from Emma Skalicky. Emma has been a member of the Tasmanian art industry since 2014, working with companies such as Loud Mouth, Blue Cow Theatre Inc, Dark Mofo, and Terrapin Puppet Theatre Co. Co-running Bad Company Theatre, Emma is also a Shakespearean tragic.
As entrée is served, you will also be delighted with tales from Ryk Goddard, who most locals know as a storyteller across music, local radio, and improvisation. Ryk has improvised on TED talks and has taken home the acclaimed prize – the Festival Storytellers Cup.
With the main course served to feast on, you can sit back and relax with a cider as internationally published poet Young Dawkins takes to the stage.
Young Dawkins is known for his compelling storytelling, with his work having the power to inspire and often ending in a different place from where it started. Young has performed on stages in New York, London, Paris, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Auckland. Young has performed at many of the Willie Smiths Mid-Winter Festivals, and we are honoured to welcome him once again to take us on a special journey.
