Summer Highlights:
Astronaut Launch Party support shows on December 30th and January 4th –
Astronaut Launch Party, a 6 piece cluster of psychedelic musical roamers hailing from the Tropical North Queensland, have been playing their space funk overdrive progressive hypergypsy punk folk rock opera in various guises for the last 20 years, becoming Astronaut Launch Party in 2018.
With musical influences from King Crimson to Bonnie Tylor, and with a genre difficult to pin down, they possibly sound a little bit like Nick Cave fronting Pink Floyd, or some sort of 60s psychedelic blues played by a 90s grunge pub band…
Things of Stone and Wood support in nipaluna/Hobart and Franklin:
Things of Stone and Wood or ToSaW are an Australian folk rock band which formed in 1989. The original line-up was Michael Bruce Allen on bass guitar and backing vocals; Greg Arnold on lead vocals and acoustic guitar; Justin Brady on violin, mandolin and harmonica; and Tony Floyd on drums and percussion.
Things of Stone and wood will be performing acoustically as a part of their tour across the country. Dates in nipaluna include January 28th at the LongHouse Hobart, and January 29th at the Palais Theatre Franklin.
