New Release: “Nest”

A new audio-visual work to the soundscape “Nest” is out now.

Nest” is a long-form sound work from the album Sun Sun, a celebration of gentle light and tiny joys. The footage for the work was captured over a few spring days in Southern Lutruwita/Tasmania, with waterways and blooms in afternoon rays.

Sun Sun was released on October 10th, an album written across two years and two summers, autumns, winters and springs.

The album Sun Sun one of the final releases as a part of the PhD Research project Songwriting and Sound: A medium for connecting distant environments. The research investigates emerging field recording techniques and contemporary song writing to communicate perspectives of site and sonic space for the bridging of distances.

Soundscape composition can reflect experiential narratives, heightens the sense of presence for the listener and offers unexpected perceptions of environments for rehearing and listening to spaces anew.
